Sketch to Figma Migration

MY ROLE

Lead UX Designer

OVERVIEW

As part of an effort to streamline processes and reduce cost, I transition the design and development teams from a Sketch-based design stack to a Figma-based design stack.

PROBLEM

With the number of different tools the design and engineering teams were using, each project had at least three links floating around in addition to PDFs. This was slowing the design and development of every project and causing wasted resources. Additionally, as COVID-19 affected budgets, we needed to reduce expenses.

SOLUTION

Over the span of 3 weeks, I transitioned our team from Sketch, Sympli, InVision, Monday.com, and Box to Figma and Google Drive. As you can imagine, going from 5 tools to 2 tremendously reduced confusion.

IMPACT

As a result of this transition, we reduced cost by almost $1,600 per year and sped up our design deliverables thanks to reducing duplication across tools.
