COVID-19 Employee Screening Toolkit

Lead UX Designer

OVERVIEW

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our customers and target consumers were forced to temporarily halt their business. We recognized that once they could resume their work, they would need to ramp up quickly and safely and would likely not have the flexibility to invest in new technologies like our core offerings.

MY ROLE

I served as the Lead UX Designer on this project guiding the design team over the span of the 6-week project. I was involved from ideation to QA while ensuring we were utilizing our newly introduced Foundry Design System.

APPROACH

In order to help our customers and increase new business, we created the COVID-19 screening toolkit. Recognizing an opportunity to tailor our core offering to help our clients get back to work, this toolkit was a set of three digital forms on Android and iOS for screening employees for symptoms of COVID-19, and a dashboard to easily visualize the data collected. With the help of the newly created GoCanvas design system, Foundry, the design team and I were able to ideate, conduct user research, create new user experience workflows and visual designs, and work with developers to build a new product to market in less than 6 weeks.

IMPACT

User testing showed an extremely favorable impression of the clean and modern dashboard design, receiving universal praise for the UI. Once launched, the COIVD-19 Employee Screening toolkit demonstrated results immediately, and ultimately led to a marked increase in product usability and utilization, over 2x forecasted revenue, and drastically decreased trial-to-adoption for customers.

In comparison with our core product offering the impact was clear:

• MQL to SQL: 9% vs. 40%
• SQL to DL: 64% vs. 83%
• Win %: 22% vs. 25%
• Trial to adoption timeline: 27 days vs. 6 days
• System Usability Scale (SUS) score: 64 vs 98

It is important to note there was a heavy Marketing initiative for this project which contributed to the metrics above.

With the demonstrated value of the toolkit and the successful implementation of Foundry, a business decision was made to update the core product and other toolkits to reflect Foundry.
